ACE NY Sustainable Energy Leadership Awards
ACE NY’s Sustainable Energy Leadership Awards recognize exemplary leadership and outstanding work done on behalf of clean energy and sustainability in New York State. Leadership can be expressed in many ways: through creating new business opportunities, through outstanding program implementation or successful public education and advocacy efforts, and by making necessary changes to our state’s laws.
The Sustainable Energy Leadership Awards are presented annually to entities and/or individuals that have made an outstanding contribution toward helping New York achieve its sustainability goals. In 2010, nominations will be accepted in the following categories (up to two awards in each category may be given).
Award Categories
Government Leader of the Year: Executive, State, or Local.
Outreach Partner of the Year: The individual, company or organization (must be an ACE NY member) that has been the most helpful in promoting the goals of ACE NY and sustainable energy through such activities as new membership outreach, participation in public affairs and advocacy efforts, and government affairs, etc.
Industry Leader of the Year: An individual, company or organization (must be an ACE NY member) that has had a significant positive impact on the clean energy and energy efficiency industry as a whole.
Criteria for the Sustainable Energy Leadership Awards
Nominees
will be judged based on the following qualities:
- Sphere of Influence: groups or people affected/influenced.
- Impact: amount of positive change the nominee brought to its sphere of influence and/or industry.
- Results: i.e. amount of energy and resources saved, amount of green energy produced, impact on economic development, amount of pollution reduced/prevented, etc.
Process for the Sustainable Energy Leadership Awards
The ACE NY Membership Committee, chaired by Gordian Raacke, Executive Director of Renewable Energy Long Island, will convene shortly after the nomination period to discuss the merits of each nominee. Thereafter the Board of Directors shall review the recommendations of the Membership Committee. Awards will be presented at ACE NY’s 4th Annual Fall Conference and Membership Meeting luncheon on October 28, 2010 at the Desmond Hotel in Albany, NY.
