During NY’s latest legislative session, the big energy news was the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), and with good reason. it is a sweeping, ambitious, economy-wide call to action for NYS to dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The CES is a NYS framework that requires a certain amount of electricity to be produced from renewable energy resources. Today, the New York Public Service Commission has approved the CES stating that, by 2030, 50% of electricity consumed must be generated from renewable energy resources.
