Membership Firewall Policy (for Companies with an Affiliation to a Regulated Utility)

Membership with the Alliance for Clean Energy New York is open to companies and organizations who work in and support the clean energy sector, including renewable electricity, energy efficiency, and transportation electrification. ACE NY membership is not open to regulated utilities.

Member companies that have an affiliation with a regulated utility, regardless of whether it operates in or out of New York state, must be aware that it is the policy of ACE NY to exclude regulated utilities from its membership, due to the potential for conflicts of interest. It is our understanding and our expectation that a firewall exists between the non-regulated entity and the regulated utility. It is only with the assurance of such a firewall that the ACE NY Board of Directors permits non-regulated entities to join ACE NY.
